Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Andrzej Konarzewski
Dr. K joined our practice in 1992 and became a partner in 2004. He has a strong affinity for internal medicine and ophthalmology. He introduced gastrointestinal endoscopy to our practice in 2009 and continues to develop his interest in ultrasound imaging. Dr. K is an avid pilot, holding commercial airplane and glider licenses, is a gliding instructor, and enjoys flying a wide variety of aircraft.
Dr. Karen Skakun
Dr, Skakun joined our practice in 1999 and became a partner in 2004. She has a strong interest in all aspect of veterinary medicine, especially orthopedics and endoscopy. She performs a wide variety of orthopedic procedures and became certified to perform TPLO surgery in 2013. She is a proud mother of four children and while not tending to the needs of her patients she can be found spending time with her family.
Dr. Marnie Pisclevich
Dr. Pisclevich was born and raised in Winnipeg. After graduating, Marnie practiced for 2 years in Saskatoon before returning home to join the team here at Transcona. She has a very strong interest in surgery and dentistry. Outside the practice she is a proud mother and wife who loves spending time with her family and dogs, as well as being a marathon runner.
Dr. Hugh Millar
Dr, Millar has been caring for pets at Transcona since 2012. Born and raised in Manitoba, he has been involved with animals and veterinary medicine his whole life. "Keeping our patients healthy and happy and helping them recover from injury or illness" is what brings Dr. Millar joy in his practice. Outside of work, he is an avid curler in the winter months.
Dr. Bernadeta Nitychoruk
Dr. Nitychoruk was born and raised in Winnipeg and has been practicing as a veterinarian in the city since graduating in 2003. Her special interests include feline medicine, geriatric medicine and dental surgery. When not caring for her patients, she loves to travel, practice yoga and get dirty gardening in her yard. She shares her home with her husband, stepdaughter, and their 2 cats.
Dr. Jen Michaud
Dr. Jen joined our practice as a new graduate in 2020. She enjoys many aspects of this diverse profession, which includes medicine, preventative medicine, and surgery. Outside of the practice she loves spending her time outside. Her hobbies include camping, playing baseball, hiking, and spending time at the lake.
RETIRED - Dr. Murray Moffatt
Dr. Moffatt founded the hospital in 1988 with a desire to create a practice that was founded on family values. With an affinity toward advanced surgery, he has become well known for conducting innovative knee surgery on dogs, known as TPLO.
Dr. Moffatt has since retired and enjoys spending time out at the lake with his family.
