Transcona Veterinary Hospital has invested in the latest x-ray technology and ultrasound equipment to help us keep your pet healthy from the inside-out. Diagnostic imaging tools like radiographs (x-rays) allow us to assess a wide variety of conditions, ranging from broken bones, to tumors, to foreign objects in your pet’s stomach. They can help us diagnose heart and lung problems, and evaluate hip and elbow dysplasia.
Our ultrasound equipment can help us monitor ongoing conditions – like pregnancy, or kidney or liver disease - or assist us in looking for serious medical problems such as internal organs damaged in a collision.
Endoscopy allows us to examine your pet’s internal organs and body parts without invasive exploratory surgery. We use an instrument called an “endoscope.” It has a little camera at the end of it that transmits images to a video screen. Endoscopy can be especially useful when looking inside an animal’s colon, esophagus, stomach and small intestine – allowing us to examine the organ's condition, and even take biopsies and remove foreign objects.

Transcona Veterinary Hospital has its own in-house diagnostic laboratory and staff capable of performing a variety of diagnostic tests for your pet. From complete blood counts to serum electrolyte measurements, our trained veterinary technicians are skilled in analyzing your pet's results quickly and accurately.
This is essential during an emergency, when your pet needs to be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.
The presence of an in-clinic laboratory means our veterinarians and technicians can begin your pet's treatment as soon as possible.
